Our Airbnb Edinburgh

A few weeks ago, me and Himself hopped on a late night train to Edinburgh to stay in our very first Airbnb. It was our first Airbnb so while I was apprehensive I was also really excited, I’ve seen so many blogs/articles about it and couldn’t wait to experience my own!

We were incredibly lucky to get in Elm House on Windsor Street. Only 10 minutes away from the centre of town and furnished like an Instagramers dream, it was the perfect place!

Before we even arrived our host Lesley was in touch from the minute we booked, meaning everything seemed really organised. When we arrived, we just got the keys and let ourselves in. Lesley had left the heating and lights on for us, giving us quite literally a warm welcome.

And it was beautiful!!  A large double bed awaited us as well as a fridge stocked with basic goodies (such as bread, yogurts, milk, some really tasty jam) and lots of fantastic flavoured teas! Facing a large TV in the front room was a comfy sofa that opened into a double bed – perfect for a cosy film night upon arrival. There was also an Ipod Dock, DVD player, board games, books and a dining table, so you weren’t short of options to keep yourself busy on colder nights should you want to stay in.

The bathroom had a large shower with a rainfall style head and these funky waterfall taps (as you can see below) and big white towels to sink into. The bedroom had a gorgeous ivory/cream wardrobe and dressing table set that wouldn’t have looked out of place at a Blogger beauty event.

Have a look at some of our photos here:

Overall we had a lovely stay and at £80 a night it wasn’t too expensive. Plus on the last day, checkout was between 11-12 meaning we could have a lie-in and Lesley looked after our bags till our late train. It really couldn’t have been an easier stay!

We’d definitely rate this property highly so if you fancy it then why not find it on Airbnb or check out their website: http://www.elmhouse-edinburgh.co.uk

Let us know if you go, I’m sure you’ll love it as much as we did!
