For those of you who have me on twitter (@ASoSblog – if not, why not?) , you’ll have seen that on the 3rd December, me and my Mum headed to Birmingham for the day to visit the amazing Clothes Show Live (http://www.clothesshow.com/ ) . Unfortunately this years event, was the last one to be held in Birmingham before it moves to Liverpool next year, so the pressure was on for it to go out with a bang!
And it really didn’t disappoint.
With hundreds of buyers, top deals and a handful of celebs thrown in (including Joey Essex, Mark Wright and Binky – to name a few!), its not an event to be missed. With brands including Candy Kittens, Elemis, With Love Lily, WAH Nails, Models Own, Barry M and Lee Stafford just to name a few, there really was something for everyone.
Included in your ticket price is the chance to watch their legendary Fashion Show (as you can see from my featured photo, that I took mid show), where theres a great mix of Fashion, Music and Dance, this year involving live musicians and singers. It’s a lot more fun that London Fashion Weekend, whilst still showing you some pretty amazing fashion AND some pretty hunky models!
Here are some more of my photos from the show:
(But you can find some more, including the top trends from Brands such as Miss Selfridge & Oasis on my twitter!)
Throughout the day you can visit the many stalls, that nearly all over great deals and discounts and the famous goody bags! My top bargain of the weekend had to be a TooFaced palette for £10 (usually between £28-£35) and a years subscription to Glamour (and a big goody bag) for £9!!
The stalls host everything from dresses, slogan tees and chunky knits to stalls where you can get your hair and make up done.
We paid quite a bit extra this year to go ‘Platinum’ which got us front row seats to the show, free parking, access to the VIP lounge, a free glass of fizz and much more!
But the biggest bonus, was the free goody bag!
In our goody bag we had;
- ‘Being Binky’ book
- Toni&Guy Shampoo
- Lee Stafford Coconut Hairspray
- Cosmopolitan Magazine
- Yushoi Snapea Rice Sticks
- Cauli Rice
- Fibre One Cake bar
- Propercorn bag
- Murine Professionl Dry Eye Relief
- 7th Heaven Charcoal Mask
- Benefit Pore Professional Sample
- Elemis Anti Ageing Pro Collagen Balm
- imPRESS press on manicure
- Compeed Sample
- Sanex sample
- Clothes Show Barry M Nail Polish
- MTV UP Energy Drink
- Feel Good Drink
- Clothes Show Bag
- Aquafresh Intense Clean toothpaste sample
- Small stories book, feat; L.A Weatherly & Maggie Harcourt
- Eucerin Even Brighter Night Cream
- Baileys Truffle Bar
- Lil-lets tampons
- WAH London Nail file
And as if that wasn’t enough a Betty box; housing a face mask, a sweet treat, a sample of Teapigs, Spot Cream, some sanitary pads and more!
So the price of the ticket was worth it, even just for the goody bag. But as I mentioned earlier, we also got access to the VIP Lounge, where we shared a glass of fizz with the likes of fashion blogging inspo @LydiaEmillen and @SarahhAshcroft which pretty much sealed the day.
For those of you looking for a career in Fashion, there were plenty of stalls with Universities, to help guide you on your way as well as a smaller catwalk, showing all day and live Q&A with important fashionable figures. Perfect to get you started or refresh your knowledge.
Overall it was a pretty amazing day and with tickets for next years going for as little as £20, why haven’t you got yours yet?!
