London 2017 (Feat. #Glamourbeautyfest )

It’s fast becoming tradition for me and my mum to book a little mini break to London – so you can imagine how pleased I was to open one of my Christmas presents to find tickets to Glamour Magazine’s Beauty Festival in the Saatchi Gallery.

Fast forward a few months and me and my mum were in London, having a great time in a weekend filled with good food, good friends and good fashion! So here’s my round-up and recommendations from the trip.

For those of you who’ve read my blogs before you’ll know that I LOVE an Airbnb and this time was no different! We managed to secure a lovely apartment in Shoreditch that became our home for the weekend. It was quite literally an Instagrammer’s dream, the only downside was that it wasn’t very clear how to get into the apartment block and the bathroom was tiny but the lady at reception was really helpful with all our enquiries.

You can find out more about this place here:

Our main reason for travelling down to the capital was to hit up Glamour Beauty Festival. Organised by the magazine team, it’s a great chance for brands to showcase their amazing products and styles ranging from a floor to get your nails done, one for your make up, one for hair and another for skin treatments. Featuring brands from Nails Inc, NARS, GHD and more, it’s the one-stop shop for all things beauty. We had  great mini spa treatments from the Caudalie team – my skin felt amazing afterwards!

Not only could you take part in treatments at all the fantastic stalls (and collect lots of freebies!) but you could get up close and personal by booking onto some of their talks. We managed to secure front row seats for the Jo Elvin and Dermott O’Leary talk (did you know he’s releasing a brand of male skincare? Out soon at M&S!) and more amazingly for the Madeline Shaw and Clean Eating Alice talk (pictured at the head of this piece). The girls were amazing – a definite highlight, closely followed by an amazing talk from Carly Rowena (pictured below).

We left with a full goody bag filled with everything from Garnier Moisture Bomb face masks to Fleur De Force false eyelashes and some amazing false nails from Elegant Touch!

Blogosphere Magazine

Another bonus to our trip was getting to meet the lovely Alice ( @AliceAudley ) from Blogosphere. We talked about the latest edition as well as all the great bloggers we know and love. I even got to take home a goody bag from the latest cover launch! So make sure you check them out and go buy the latest cover – its the ultimate guide to all thing blogging!

If you read my blogs, you’ll know I LOVE food and foodie places! So we love to use our trips away to try new and great places. So here’s our top 3 from this trip:

  1. Absurd Bird – we got this delivered on Deliveroo and it was AMAZING. We had chicken and waffles and their fab sweet potatoes topped with marshmallows – don’t knock it till you try it, it’s seriously delicious.
  2. Reds True Barbecue – We’ve been meaning to go for ages and as it was raining on Sunday we found ourselves in the Shoreditch branch. I highly recommend the donut burger and the homemade ice tea!
  3. Dinerama – okay so I’m cheating here because this one isn’t new to us but I will never tire of it or the salted caramel donuts – which are OUT of this world!!

So there we go, a quick summary and some recommendations. Let me know if you try any of these fantastic restaurants or take a visit to this Airbnb and make sure you buy tickets for #glamourbeautyfest next year!
