Fake it till you make it. That well known, often over used phrase.
But it’s unbelievably true.
Sometimes I wake up and I feel more nervous than I can even explain. Then I look at my phone and realise its time to face another day, another set of work goals, another meeting. So I force myself to put on make up or fix my hair and tell myself that I can do it.
Even the most confident people in the world have days when they feel lost or struggle with their daily routine. They just don’t always show it. Sometimes you just have to pretend, you have to tell yourself that you can do it because it’s very likely that you can.
Whether it’s the big presentation at work or date night is giving you butterflies, just put on a brave face and believe in yourself. Put on your confidence boosting outfit, wear that lipstick that makes you feel fierce. There is no shame in pretending to be brave.
I work with lots of amazing people and always have, but I have always felt comforted that even those who I have felt inspired by have admitted to feeling nervous now and again.
Believing in yourself is half the battle, once you crack that bit you can achieve anything. Don’t focus on things that have gone wrong, focus on all the things you’ve achieved. All the things you have managed to do, even on your most nerve wrecking days.
I wish I could tell you how to believe in yourself, but everyone is different. For me I just try to look back on the days when I felt so ill with depression that I could barely stand up, but yet still played cars with my little nephew. That’s when I remember that I can probably do anything.
So you just need to find your thing, the thing that makes you feel like the Beyoncé of your own life. Whether its a memory, a supportive text, a sassy outfit or song that makes you feel strong.
Even if you’re not sure, believe in yourself. Post the selfie. Feel the love. You are bloody amazing even if you can’t see it.
And next time you feel overshadowed by someone, perhaps worrying that they are much better at life than you, just remember that they will have worry filled days too. Trust me.
So very true

Personally I need to fake confidence about many things, it is only once I have faked it and come through on the other side that I can actually build confidence in that area….Fake it till you make it is my Motto!

I am very similar! But I take comfort knowing that everyone feels the same and it’s not just me! I’m sure you are fantastic!
